This is the best way to impact a life in Africa – making a personal investment, relating with and building a relationship with a child and his or her family. You will have the opportunity to exchange letters, photos, videos, gifts, and even visits. You can sponsor a child for as long as you want, but we recommend that you commit for at least 1 or more years to bring stability to the child and family.

How much does it cost?
The amount needed for sponsoring depends on the school, academic level and medical condition of the child. We have listed the costs in detail here. On average, we spend 62,125 UGX (~20 USD) on one child per month, but some children require al
most double the amount. Supporting us with just 20 USD per month is a wonderful way to change the life of a child in need and bring hope to his or her entire community. Being a sponsor through Child Hug Uganda’s Sponsor a Child Program will give you the chance to ensure academic development and brighten the future of a child in desperate need. You can also choose to donate more or less than 20 USD, depending on your financial resources.
As a sponsor, what will I receive throughout the year?
We will send you a sponsorship package by email (or hard copy on request) which includes a photo and profile of your child, as well as every other information you may request. You can also expect to receive hand-written notes or drawings from the child, photos, scanned copies of grade / report cards and reports on the child’s overall well-being.
How does sponsorship work?
The goal of Child Hug Uganda’s sponsorship is to equip your child to step confidently into the future. Your contributions are used directly for paying school fees, scholastic materials, clothing, housing, and medical supplies (if necessary). Your sponsorship may last for many years, and you will experience how your child and his or her community reach their goals.
